Where can you get a Google Pixel repaired in Tenerife?
A1 Computers repairs Google Pixel phones at Local 4, Centro Comercial San Eugenio, Av. de los Pueblos 20, 38660 Costa Adeje: cracked screens, batteries, charging ports, cameras, back glass and water damage, with board-level micro-soldering when needed. Walk in without an appointment, Monday–Saturday 10:45–21:30 or Sunday 10:45–14:00. The counter speaks English and Spanish.
Google's own repair page lists mail-in repair for Spain but no walk-in service, and Google says repairs not covered by warranty are charged. If your Pixel is still under Google's warranty, check that route first; for out-of-warranty damage, or if you can't be without the phone while it travels, a walk-in repair is quicker. To check parts for your model, WhatsApp 641 780 077 or call 922 71 35 82.
What does Pixel Repair Mode do?
Repair Mode starts the phone in a clean copy of Android in a separate, secure partition with limited functions, so a technician can test and fix it without a factory reset and without seeing your data. Google says it works on Pixel phones that run the Android 14 December 2023 update or later and have at least 2 GB of free space. When you exit Repair Mode, any changes you or the repair service made are removed.
Google still says to back up first, because if a repair replaces parts that affect storage, the phone has to be wiped even with Repair Mode on. It also says not to share your PIN, password or pattern with the technician. Turn Repair Mode on in Settings before you hand the phone in; the steps for every brand are in how to prepare your phone for a repair.
How do you check a Pixel battery?
On a Pixel 6 or later, open Settings › Battery › Battery Diagnostics to test the battery. On Pixel 8a and later, Settings also shows a battery health status: Reduced means capacity is below 80%. Google suggests a replacement once capacity drops below 80%, or after 800 charge cycles on Pixel 3 to Pixel 8 Pro and Pixel Fold, and 1,000 cycles on Pixel 8a and later.
Heat speeds up the wear, which matters in Tenerife: keep the phone out of direct sun and off the car dashboard. A Pixel whose screen or back starts to lift may have a swollen battery; stop pressing on it and bring it in. See phone battery replacement.
Is a Pixel waterproof at the beach?
No. Google says water and dust resistance aren't permanent conditions and diminish over time, and that IP ratings apply to the phone as it left the factory; repair or disassembly can affect them. Google also says water damage is not covered by warranty.
If a Pixel gets wet, Google's advice is to take it out of the water, turn it off, dry it with a soft cloth and let it finish drying on a flat surface at room temperature. A Pixel may show a Liquid or debris message and refuse to charge until the port is dry. After seawater, bring it in quickly: salt keeps corroding the board after the phone looks dry. More in water damage repair and phone not charging.
Is it worth repairing an older Pixel?
It depends on how long it will still get updates. Google gives Pixel 8 and later 7 years of Android and security updates from when the model first went on sale, and Pixel 6, 6a, 6 Pro, 7, 7a, 7 Pro and Pixel Fold 5 years. Pixel 5a and older no longer receive updates.
A recent Pixel with a cracked screen or a tired battery is usually worth repairing, because it has years of security updates left. On a Pixel that no longer gets updates, weigh the price of the repair against a newer phone; the counter can give you the price first so you can decide.
How much does a Pixel repair cost in Tenerife?
It depends on the model and the fault, so A1 Computers quotes for your Pixel. Send the model and the problem on WhatsApp to 641 780 077, call 922 71 35 82, or walk in to Local 4, CC San Eugenio. You get the price before any work starts. Diagnosis costs €15.
Back up first in Settings › Google services › All services › Backup (Google says a backup can take up to 24 hours), switch on Repair Mode, and bring the cable you normally use.
